Barred Owl Male release August 17, 2013

I went to pick up a Male Barred Owl for release on Saturday. He was a feisty young boy and very healthy. Thanks to The Owl Foundation the owl was given a second chance. He was in rehab for some time as his beak had to regrow. As you can see he is beautiful.
A couple of shots by Lee Ellis on the release of the owl. Thanks for coming with me Lee.
The Barred Owl landed in three different trees and we were able to watch him fly 4 times. What a thrill to see the owl so healthy.

A bit of water in the field and a couple of nice surprises. Many killdeer and one Lessor Sandpiper. First time I have ever seen one so close.

Osprey taking off with fish - August 18, 2013

Just love watching ospreys fish. Today Donna and I saw two ospreys dive for Koi. Amazing splash as they hit the water and the struggle to get the fish out of the water and into the air.

Great Blue Heron is amazing light - August 18, 2013

Donna and I went to the pond to see if the osprey were still there. They were plus Great Blue Herons and Black Crowned Night Herons. The lighting was amazing. Enjoy the shots from the pond. Can you see how many herons are in the one shot?
